Jerry (Tom Cruise) is kind-hearted, exceptionally talented, and an outstanding sports agent. Perhaps even the heavens envy this perfect man and decide to strike him down; Jerry angers his boss with a brilliantly written mission statement and is fired. His beautiful girlfriend leaves him, and his career prospects plunge into uncertainty. From the heights of success, Jack falls to the depths of failure. Before leaving the company, he passionately rallies his colleagues to join him in starting their own venture. In the end, Jack only takes one fish with him, along with an accountant named Dorothy (Renée Zellweger) who is willing to embark on this journey with him. Now, Jack's only client is a mediocre African-American football player, Rod (Cuba Gooding Jr.).
