In the old lunar March in Dali, Yunnan, the vice president of the People's Commune, Jinhua (Yang Likun), leads her sisters to drive to the traditional annual event of "March Street." When their car breaks down halfway, they are at a loss. They meet A Peng (Mo Zijiang), a blacksmith from Jianchuan, who is on his way to the horse racing festival. A Peng fixes the car and, without waiting for Jinhua to thank him, jumps on his horse and rushes into the race, winning the championship. After the race, Jinhua finds an opportunity to get close to A Peng, and as they talk, feelings develop between them. They agree to meet again by Butterfly Spring when the camellias bloom the following year. In the second year, A Peng arrives as promised, but after waiting for a long time without seeing Jinhua, he doesn't know what to do. He meets two artists and musicians from the Changchun Film Studio, and after hearing his story, they vow to help him find Jinhua. During his search, he mistakenly identifies several different "Jinhua" figures – Jinhua the exemplary farmer (Sun Jingzhen), Jinhua from the livestock farm (Tan Yaozhong), Jinhua from the steel plant (Wang Suya), and Jinhua the tractor driver (Zhu Yijin) – as his true love, leading to many humorous situations.
