In order to visit her sick mother (played by Kim Sung-ryung), Jin Soo-yeon (played by Park Shin-hye) returns to her hometown. Since her father's death, the relationship between Jin Soo-yeon and her mother has reached a freezing point, as she believes her mother should take full responsibility for her father's demise. Jin Soo-yeon accidentally leaves her phone on the train, and in desperation, she can only temporarily contact the outside world using a landline at home. One day, the phone rings, and on the other end is a girl named Woo Young-sook (played by Jeon Jong-seo). Soon, Jin Soo-yeon discovers that this phone seems to possess the ability to traverse time, and Woo Young-sook does not live in the same era but is rather a girl who lived in this house ten years ago. According to Woo Young-sook's narrative, she is imprisoned at home by her cult-worshipping mother (played by Lee Ai), living a life worse than death. As time passes, a friendship gradually develops between the two girls. Jin Soo-yeon also discovers that not long after, Woo Young-sook from ten years ago will meet her end in a fire.
