Gunner (played by Lonnie Chavez) embarks on a journey to find the mythical figure, the Water Man, who holds the secret to eternal life, in an effort to save his sick mother (played by Rosario Dawson). With the help of a mysterious local girl, Jo (played by Amir Miller), they venture into the distant forest of Wild Horse Town. However, as they delve deeper, the forest becomes increasingly strange and dangerous. Gunner's father (played by David Oyelowo) is their only hope for rescue, and he will stop at nothing to find them, discovering his son's true identity in the process.
