Living in New York City, Rebecca Bloomwood (Isla Fisher) is a reporter for a home and garden magazine. In this beautiful, bustling metropolis, her endless shopping desires are fully indulged, with impractical clothing constantly being brought home. However, the other side of the coin is the mounting debt that results from this. Her poor financial situation leaves her life in chaos; despite trying to overcome her shopping addiction, she ultimately succumbs to her favorite items. On the other hand, Rebecca hopes to land a job at her dream magazine, Alette, but mistakenly enters the editorial department of a financial magazine instead. Clueless about finance, she occasionally writes a unique investment article that receives praise from readers and industry professionals, and even love soon follows. Yet, lies can only be hidden for so long, especially with her heavy debts looming in front of her...The film is adapted from the “Shopaholic” series by British author Sophie Kinsella.
