Dan Milton Prescott (played by Bill Edwards), who aspires to be the first astronaut in human history, pilots the spacecraft Y-12 to space. At the moment he enters outer space, he becomes so excited that he ignores the command from headquarters, ultimately leading to the spacecraft going out of control. The spacecraft crashes into the atmosphere, losing contact with headquarters. Soon, the Department of Defense finds the wreckage of the spacecraft, while Dan, who caused the incident, is carefree with his girlfriend. Dan's individuality leaves a deep impression on the high-level officials at the Department of Defense. Despite pressure from all sides, they decide to send Dan to pilot Y-13 back to space. When he reaches an altitude of 600,000 feet, Dan's old habits resurface. Ignoring orders from headquarters, he heads straight into outer space. As a result, the spacecraft loses control, is attacked by cosmic dust, and eventually explodes. The Department of Defense finds the wreckage, but Dan is nowhere to be seen. Shortly after, a terrifying, bloodthirsty creature begins to roam the city...
