Terry (played by Steve Guttenberg) is a talented young architect who is having an affair with his boss's wife, Sylvia (played by Isabelle Huppert). One day, Terry invites Sylvia to his home for a rendezvous when she discovers a woman across the back window of the bedroom being attacked by an assailant. Out of fear that their affair will be exposed, Sylvia refuses to report the incident, but not long after, she is brutally murdered. Furthermore, Terry becomes the main suspect in the case. In order to avenge his lover and clear his name, Terry teams up with the victim, Dennis (played by Elizabeth McGovern), and together they decide to capture the real killer.
