Martha married into a village inhabited by the Hittites, a religious community that is hostile towards her as a non-believer. After experiencing a significant tragedy, she invites two female friends from Los Angeles to come and accompany her on vacation, but the three of them unwittingly become targets of a murder plot. The arrival of evil brings chilling winds to the village, creating a spine-tingling atmosphere. This film can be categorized as a religious horror movie, reflecting the psychological fears induced by cults (reportedly a semi-autobiographical film by Wes Craven). Deadly Blessing is an early work by renowned American horror director Wes Craven, released in 1981 after ‘The Last House on the Left’ and ‘The Hills Have Eyes’. The film is filled with cult elements and features many beautiful women in classic horror style.
