Rocket Raccoon (voiced by Bradley Cooper) steals the energy battery from High Priestess Ayesha (played by Elizabeth Debicki), leading to an attack on the group including Star-Lord (played by Chris Pratt), Gamora (played by Zoe Saldana), and Drax (played by Dave Bautista) by a fleet sent by Ayesha. A mysterious figure saves the Guardians of the Galaxy in a spaceship, and it turns out that the pilot is none other than Star-Lord's biological father Ego (played by Kurt Russell). Under Ego's guidance, Star-Lord, Gamora, and Drax arrive at a planet created by Ego, while the remaining members work to repair their damaged spaceship. Meanwhile, Ayesha hires Yondu (played by Michael Rooker) to capture Star-Lord for revenge, and Gamora gradually uncovers a massive conspiracy hidden behind Ego's benevolent facade.
