In 2017, Earth was invaded by alien exiles who destroyed their home planet. Humanity managed to defeat the invaders using nuclear weapons, but paid a painful price of losing their home. For nearly half a century that followed, humanity migrated to Titan, but a small fraction remained on Earth to eliminate the remaining alien marauders. Jack Harper (played by Tom Cruise) and Victoria (played by Andrea Riseborough) are among those who stayed behind, with their main task being to ensure the drones guarding the water extraction towers operate normally. Their seemingly endless mission is finally coming to an end, and at this moment, an unidentified flying object crashes in a remote area.
