A sister film to "Frankenstein vs. the Giant Monster." The clone creature Frankenstein becomes more monstrous and splits into two forms: the mountain monster Sandar and the sea monster Gaira. The kind-hearted brother Sandar and the man-eating ferocious brother Gaira engage in a brutal battle. Their fierce duel unfolds in the city, with the Self-Defense Force, which has traditionally played a supporting role, introducing a deadly weapon that incinerates living cells—the Maser Cannon Tank—resulting in an even match. This Japan-US co-production two-part Frankenstein series made a mark during the monster boom of the time, introducing a tournament-style monster movie without human presence, but it did not become mainstream.
