The story is based on true events and tells of Mildred Gillars (played by Meadow Williams) who unwittingly became a German propaganda broadcaster against the U.S. military during World War II. "Axis Sally" was the nickname given to Mildred Gillars. In 1949, after her capture in post-war Berlin, she was convicted of treason by the U.S. Al Pacino plays the lawyer defending Axis Sally.
