In this story, Seto Inland Sea is not a geographical location but the names of two second-year male students at a boys' high school in Osaka. Seto Koyoshi (played by Suda Masaki) is tall and slender; he was once a member of the soccer club but left due to a poor relationship with his seniors. Uchiumi Sō (played by Ikematsu Sosuke) is polite and reserved, yet not just a bookish nerd who knows only how to study. For some unknown reason, these two seemingly unrelated members of the "Homecoming Club" became friends. After school in the afternoons, they would meet by the riverbank to sit down. During the time before Uchiumi heads to his tutoring class, they would chat leisurely about all sorts of topics, though their conversations often felt pointless and hollow. When the whimsical girl Kashimura Ichigo (played by Nakajo Ayami) appears, she unknowingly stirs something within the clumsy big boy’s heart...This film is adapted from the manga of the same name by Kurimoto Kazuya.
