Nomi (Elizabeth Berkley) is a sexy and beautiful girl who comes to Las Vegas to seek her fortune, hoping to find a job that will allow her to stand on her own. Unexpectedly, upon her arrival, she is robbed of her luggage by a thug and left with nothing. She meets a makeup artist named Cristal (Gina Gershon), and the two quickly form a deep friendship. Nomi discovers that it's incredibly difficult to find a job in Las Vegas, and driven by her love of dance, she ultimately decides to join the local most famous showgirl team. After a series of auditions, Nomi gets her role, but once she becomes involved in this complex world of glamour and vice, her descent becomes unstoppable. Once proud and dignified, Nomi surprisingly begins to exploit her body for advancement. As Nomi's fame grows, the distance between her and Cristal also widens. To make amends for their friendship, Nomi arranges a meeting between Cristal and her idol singer, only to find that the idol is a beast in disguise. Cristal suffers humiliation and ends up in the hospital, shattering Nomi's last illusions about fame and fortune.
