The story takes place in an airport, where a flight to Hawaii is about to take off. Co-pilot Suzuki Nobuhiro (played by Seiichi Tanabe) is filled with anxiety because this flight is his final promotion training test flight. If he meets all the requirements, he will soon be promoted to captain. However, his supervising instructor is none other than the strict Harada Noriyoshi (played by Saburo Shimono), and just thinking about this makes Suzuki break out in a cold sweat. Similarly anxious is the newbie flight attendant Saito Etsuko (played by Haruka Ayase), who has to face her intimidating supervisor, chief flight attendant Yamazaki Rieko (played by Shinobu Terajima). Various legends about her swirl in Etsuko's mind, and even before she gets scolded, she feels tears welling up. Unfortunately, problems keep arising.
