After years away from home, Liang Zhe (played by Liang Ji) returns to his hometown in Shanxi to attend his grandfather's funeral, but the journey home is much longer than he expected. On the way from the county town to the village, he transfers to four different modes of transportation, encounters long-lost relatives, an old classmate driving a coal truck, and even reunites with his first love while picking up a stray puppy. A fortune teller tells him he has a strong destiny, and he arrives at a point in his life where his hometown feels foreign, with the scars of time still faintly aching. The film won the Best Narrative Feature Honor at the 6th Pingyao International Film Festival.
