Beer tycoon Freddy Heineken was kidnapped at gunpoint in 1983 and held for three weeks before being rescued after a ransom of approximately 600 million Taiwan dollars was paid. However, the story doesn’t end there; after being released, this most powerful businessman in the Netherlands used various connections to have the kidnappers captured, marking the beginning of a battle of wits for revenge... Based on a sensational true event, the story centers on the contrast and conflict between the then 25-year-old kidnapper, Rem, and the wealthy Heineken. On one hand, through a terrifying experience, this wealthy entrepreneur learns about his own inner fragility and indifference, beginning to value seemingly taken-for-granted aspects of life; on the other hand, the brutal provocations of this young villain highlight the anger and resistance of another group of marginalized people deprived in society. This is the most notable work of Dutch actor Rutger Hauer, who returned to his homeland's film scene after a thirty-year absence, marking another peak in his acting career.
