Dr. William (Tom Cruise) attends a dinner party at the home of a local socialite with his wife (Nicole Kidman) when he unexpectedly encounters a college classmate—Nick, who is the pianist at the party. That night, William goes out on business. After finishing his work, he encounters Nick again at a bar, who reveals to him the existence of a secret masquerade ball: everyone at the ball wears evening gowns and masks, with naked women everywhere. Intrigued, William begs Nick for details, and Nick provides the address and the secret password for entry. William quickly prepares and embarks on a dreamlike adventure filled with strangeness and mystery, with hidden secrets that are beyond comprehension.
