Walking through the bustling crowd on the street, Allen (Cole Hauser) cannot hide his disappointment and frustration. After working diligently for his boss for 9 years, he is still just a worthless little employee, and the fact that his wife is unfaithful deeply hurts him. To relieve his melancholic mood, Allen visits a small bar, inadvertently getting caught up in a strange and dangerous situation. In the bar, Allen meets a strange man named Jonathan (Cuba Gooding Jr.), who claims to be a hitman, but Allen is skeptical. Jonathan tells Allen that he can kill five people for free and asks him to make an assassination list. Thinking it's a prank, Allen gives him the list, only to find that people on the list start dying one after another overnight. To protect the remaining people on the list, Allen begins a battle of wits with the hitman.
