This film is based on true events and real characters. The story takes place in Marseille during the 1970s and 1980s, where Jean Dujardin plays police officer Pierre Michel, who relentlessly investigates to dismantle the largest drug trafficking organization in Marseille. This organization transports drugs from Turkey through France to the United States, providing a significant supply to the American drug market. In 1971, Hollywood director William Friedkin's film "The French Connection" was set against the same backdrop.
