CIA agent Emerson Kent (played by John Cusack) is frequently assigned to execute dangerous missions that involve life-or-death situations, and the psychological pressure he endures is unimaginable. During one mission, the death of a stranger girl causes his mental defenses to begin to crumble. Subsequently, he is reassigned from fieldwork to an old U.S. military base in England—an intelligence station that the U.S. government refuses to acknowledge—where he serves as the bodyguard for senior code expert Katherine (played by Malin Akerman). Life in the remote town is monotonous and uneventful, with occasional disturbances from the shadow of that incident, but Emerson's tense mood is gradually easing. However, one day, he and Katherine are attacked by mysterious assailants. After reporting the situation to headquarters, Emerson receives orders for evacuation along with Katherine.
