James (Colin Farrell) successfully passes the initial screening of the CIA as an honor student and enters a training base with other elite students to receive special training. The CIA sends its most experienced ace agent, Walter (Al Pacino), to train this group of young people. During various brutal and nearly cold-blooded training exercises, James, despite his outstanding performance, is inexplicably eliminated. Among the newcomers, the female trainee Layla (Bridget Moynahan) raises suspicions among the upper ranks, suspected of being an undercover agent sent by a hostile intelligence organization. Consequently, James, who has established a good relationship with Layla during training, is secretly assigned the task of countering her. James begins to deliberately get close to Layla to gather information. However, as they spend more time together, he finds himself developing feelings for Layla, who he doesn't know is a friend or foe. Faced with the honor of his country and his personal emotions, how will James make his painful choice?
