Based on the true story of the last trial by combat in medieval France. Following the accusation of rape by Marguerite (Jodie Comer), the wife of Jean de Carrouges (Matt Damon), against Jacques Le Gris (Adam Driver), knight Jean de Carrouges challenges his former friend Jacques Le Gris to a duel. Told from multiple "Rashomon-style" perspectives. King Charles VI declares that knight Jean de Carrouges will duel his squire to resolve their dispute.
