In early summer 1993, a murder occurred in Kyoto. The victims were Yasunori Nagao and Emi Sawai from the Blue Sky Choir, both killed. The arrested suspect is Shinichi Yaginuma, the conductor of the choir. Shinichi vehemently denies murdering anyone and maintains his innocence in court, but ultimately he is sentenced to death and becomes a death row inmate. Fifteen years after the incident, just before the statute of limitations is about to expire, a letter signed by Melos arrives at the hands of Yoshifumi, Shinichi's father, who has constantly claimed his son's innocence. The letter states, "I want to confess; I am just an accomplice, the mastermind is Dionysus."
