Film Synopsis After many years as a professional hitman, Joshua finds himself needing to stop in Little Odessa during a contract job, as it is the Russian immigrant area he fled from to seek adventure. Here, he has family and friends. However, this visit home is utterly unsuccessful; his mother is gravely ill, his father disapproves of his reputation and is cold towards him, and the love and brotherhood of the past have turned to dust. The local gang's grudges against him have not faded... Film Review Initially, director James Gray had everything in place but couldn't find the ideal male lead—a younger version of Pacino. By chance, he watched "Vincent & Theo," and his immediate reaction was, "Who is this guy!" At that time, he hadn't seen "Reservoir Dogs," but he quickly found it to watch, and after viewing it, he decided Tim was Joshua. He then approached Tim, who, after their discussion, immediately agreed to star in the film; he didn’t read the script or inquire about the salary at the time, simply signed his name. Gray commented to reporters: "He has guts." Regarding a particular intimate scene in the film, Tim shared that in all his years, even during "Captives," he had never encountered such a situation. According to him, his girlfriend's role, played by Moira Kelly, was a very proper girl and a Catholic. Before shooting, they had a bit to drink and managed to get it in one take. Some have noted that Tim only smiled twice in this film. James Gray commented on TR, saying he "is a good person but is drawn to some dark things." This film received the Best Supporting Actress award at the 1994 Venice Film Festival
