Born into an ordinary family, Ayako (played by Isuzu Yamada) currently works for a pharmaceutical company. She has feelings for her colleague Nishimura, who is a rather unreliable and unresponsible man. Unfortunately, Ayako's father is also in dire straits, as he has embezzled funds and faces prison time.
