Academy Award-winning director Andrew Stanton presents his latest work "John Carter," an epic action-adventure set against the mysterious and majestic backdrop of Mars. The film is adapted from Edgar Rice Burroughs' classic sci-fi novel "A Princess of Mars," created in the early 20th century. The story follows John Carter (played by Taylor Kitsch), a traumatized former officer from the American Civil War who unintentionally finds himself transported to Mars. Due to the difference in gravity, John becomes a superhuman with incredible strength and agility, getting embroiled in the conflicts among the planet's various factions while navigating his relationship with the beautiful Princess Dejah Thoris (played by Lynn Collins), the brave ally Tars Tarkas (played by Willem Dafoe), and the cunning enemy Sab Than. However, the anguish caused by war on Earth has left John disillusioned with conflict; although he is seen by these factions as the key to saving Mars, can he truly put his past behind him, take on the responsibility of protecting its people, and turn the tide of destiny in this alien battleground?
