In the African American neighborhoods of the West Coast of the United States, violence and crime are almost always happening. The youth loitering on the streets and the stench of corpses in the bushes punctuate the daily life of elementary school student Tre Styles and his friends. Tre is talkative and competitive, getting into fights with classmates. Due to his educational issues, his mother sends Tre to live with his estranged father, Furious (played by Laurence Fishburne), who has a strong personality. Under his guidance, Tre grows up...
