Akira Tachibana (played by Nana Komatsu) is a 17-year-old female high school student. Unlike girls her age, Akira possesses a maturity beyond her years and a bit of aloofness. In her spare time, Akira works at a family restaurant, where her boss is the messy middle-aged Kondo Masaki (played by Yo Oizumi). Masaki is a forgetful and somewhat clueless man who often inadvertently makes Akira blush and her heart race. Yes, Akira has developed feelings for this man who is in his forties, and even though Masaki has had a marriage and has a child, Akira cannot resist his charm, while Masaki seems completely unaware of Akira's overwhelming emotions. Once, Akira was the star of the school's track team but chose to quit for unknown reasons. Upon learning this, Masaki begins to encourage Akira to rediscover her love for running.
