In the late Showa period, a young pianist, Bo, performs in a cabaret in Ginza, Japan, while searching for the true essence of jazz. Encouraged by mysterious gang members, Bo plays the theme song "Love Theme" from the movie "The Godfather," unaware that this piece has a well-known taboo: the gang leader who rules the underground world of Ginza only allows his favorite pianist, Minami, to play it.
