The critical material for manufacturing nuclear weapons, enriched uranium, has leaked from that country on the Korean Peninsula, attracting high attention from neighboring countries like Japan, South Korea, and even the United States. To prevent potential nuclear terrorist attacks, the CIA, Public Security, and NIS dispatched numerous agents, leading to a silent spy war during peacetime. Kenji Sumimoto (played by Atsurō Watanabe), the head of the Foreign Affairs Division of Public Security, is tasked with finding the missing former Japanese scientist Chang-yi Xu (played by Min Tanaka). Meanwhile, the Japanese-Korean businessman Masahide Okuda (played by Hyun-jun Shin) is a major suspect and becomes a focus for the Foreign Affairs Police. In order to gather evidence of Okuda’s involvement in terrorist activities, Sumimoto orders his subordinate Haruna Matsuzawa (played by Machiko Ono) to approach Okuda's wife Kaori (played by Yoko Maki). Burdened with immense inner turmoil, how will Kaori face a husband she doesn't truly know, and what secrets does she hold within? As the final moments draw nearer… This film is adapted from the second part of the spy novel of the same name by Kyū Asō.
