The Snow Queen Freya (Emily Blunt) is inherently gentle and kind, but her despair over the loss of her beloved daughter turns her brutal and insane. Together with her evil sister Ravenna (Charlize Theron), she establishes a cold and bone-chilling kingdom of ice and snow, using cruel and ruthless rules to maintain their reign, and even instituting a rule against falling in love, with terrible punishments for those who disobey. Eric the Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) meets the warrior Sara (Jessica Chastain), and the two inevitably fall in love, breaking the taboo. In order to be together with their loved ones, Eric and Sara decide to join forces to overthrow the tyranny of the two queens.
