“Little boy, seldom troubled, gazing around as the sun shines…” Young Heintje Simons, despite losing his mother at a young age, never lost his optimism about life. He lives a peaceful and happy life with his father, Karl (Heinz Reincke), and every day, he “educates” his “rebellious” father. “But one day, turmoil arose, with worries and troubles coming…” Heintje's grandfather, Beethold (Paul Dahlke), was a wealthy entrepreneur. Even before Heintje was born, he severed ties with his daughter for opposing her marriage to Karl. When the son of a banker framed Karl for a bank robbery, Beethold turned a blind eye, leading to Karl's imprisonment. Heintje, with legal assistance, came to his side. Gradually, Beethold began to feel the warmth that Heintje brought him, and Heintje unintentionally learned about his father's wrongful accusation.
