Beautiful single mother Rachel Keller (played by Naomi Watts) moves with her son Aidan (played by David Dorfman) from Seattle, a place that left behind indelible horror memories, to Astoria, Oregon, by the sea. Rachel secures a job at a local newspaper, leading a fulfilling and busy life. One day, the newspaper receives a report about two young men who, after watching a mysterious videotape, one dies and the other goes insane. The familiar scenes and the untitled tape make Rachel敏感ly aware that a past nightmare is about to resurface. She burns the tape in an attempt to stop the curse of the Ring from spreading and endangering others, but disaster soon befalls Aidan. What needs to come to an end must come to an end; one cannot escape the unavoidable... This film is adapted from the horror novel of the same name by Japanese author Koji Suzuki, serving as a remake of the Japanese version. The film won the 2006 ASCAP Film and Television Music Award and the 2006 BMI Film and Television Award for Best Score.
