The film focuses on the infamous Boston Strangler murders: from 1962 to 1964, 13 single women were attacked, sexually assaulted, and strangled in their apartments. The police identified suspect Albert DeSalvo after an investigation; he confessed and was sentenced to life imprisonment, later being killed in prison. There are many doubts surrounding this case, and the true serial killer and the person who killed DeSalvo remain a mystery to this day.
