High school student Joel (Tom Cruise) is troubled by his studies, with even his dreams ending in exam delays. Poor grades cast a shadow over his college prospects, and his middle-class parents arrange an interview for him at Princeton University. While his parents are away, Joel and his friends plan a money-making scheme, which leads to a chance encounter with a call girl named Lana. Lana brings warmth to Joel's life but also pulls him into a series of troubles: a burglary at home, a pimp chasing them in a car... leaving Joel overwhelmed. However, amidst all the chaos, Joel grows closer to Lana and eventually agrees to her idea—hosting parties at home to profit by introducing call girls to young men. With his parents away, the house transforms into a party venue, and during the nights of revelry, the Princeton interviewer shows up unexpectedly, leaving Joel to deal with the situation in a rush. How will his college future turn out?
