André Øvredal ([The Autopsy of Jane Doe]) will take over from Guillermo del Toro to direct [Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark], with the script written by Dan Hageman and Kevin Hageman, and CBS producing the film. Del Toro will serve as a producer. The film is based on the novel of the same name by Alvin Schwartz and revolves around a group of young people in a small town plagued by mysterious deaths, who must uncover the secrets behind it. Filming will begin next summer.
