In the crucial three years, Muhammad Ali formed a brotherhood with Malcolm X that changed not only their lives but also the world. "Blood Brothers: Muhammad Ali and Malcolm X" tells the story of two iconic figures of the 20th century, from their bond to their eventual fallout. Few can comprehend the depth of their friendship. In this brand-new feature documentary produced by Kenya Barris, director Marcus A. Clarke provides a fresh perspective, portraying this complex friendship through interviews with insiders and previously unreleased footage. The film delves into the lives of these two legendary figures: one a charismatic, outspoken Olympic champion adored by the nation; the other a former convict turned intellectual revolutionary unafraid to denounce oppression. Through interviews with those closest to them (Malcolm X's daughter Ilyasah Shabazz, Ali's brother Rahman, and daughters Mariyum and Hana) as well as cultural icons like Cornel West and Al Sharpton, the film narrates their meeting, bonding, and eventual split due to disagreements within the "Nation of Islam" leadership. The film is adapted from the book "Blood Brothers" by Randy Roberts and Johnny Smith and directed by Marcus A. Clarke ("Unsung," "Hip Hop Uncovered"), with producers Kenya Barris and Jason Perez. The production team includes Elin Sampson, Jonathan Qin, Simon Qin, Simon George, and Marcus A. Clarke.
