Racecar driver Ricky Bobby (Will Ferrell) had his father go missing during his childhood. His father's declaration of "either first or last" always accompanied Ricky and his best friend, Cal (John C. Reilly). As adults, Ricky and Cal both joined the Dennit racing team as mechanics. During a race in Talladega, a driver chose to withdraw due to fear of failure, leading Ricky to showcase his incredible driving skills and earn fame by finishing in third place. From then on, he and Cal became racecar drivers for the team. Ricky's outstanding performance brought him both fame and fortune, along with a beautiful wife, while his loyal friend Cal remained dedicated, clearing the track for him. However, Ricky soon faced challenges from teammates, particularly from French F1 driver Jean Girard, who thoroughly defeated Ricky, leaving him in despair. Just as Ricky lost everything, his long-missing father suddenly reappeared to help him reclaim it all...
