The story follows Ong Zhi-Hua, who witnesses her father's tragic death in a gang-related killing. To avoid getting involved, she flees to the Netherlands with her brother, Xue-Ren, to seek refuge with relatives. Upon arriving in the Netherlands, Zhi-Hua and her brother discover that their relatives have died. Feeling lost in a foreign land, they encounter Fang Jing-Sheng, a police officer who enthusiastically helps them settle in and find jobs. Xue-Ren is very grateful to Jing-Sheng, who has developed feelings for Zhi-Hua, but she shows no interest in him. Zhi-Hua then meets local Chinese resident Deng Shi-Wen. Initially wary of him, she gradually warms up after several interactions, leading them both to fall in love. Meanwhile, it is revealed that Jing-Sheng is involved with the gang, protecting prostitution and illegal gambling. When the Hong Kong gang comes to the Netherlands in search of Zhi-Hua to retrieve the incriminating evidence she holds, Jing-Sheng, driven by greed, collaborates with the gang and kidnaps Xue-Ren, forcing her to hand over the evidence. However, Zhi-Hua has already destroyed the evidence. Shi-Wen bravely comes to help, rescuing Xue-Ren but gets pursued by Jing-Sheng. Xue-Ren tragically dies, and Zhi-Hua and Shi-Wen flee to a small town, pursued by Jing-Sheng, leading to a confrontation where Shi-Wen is overpowered...
