The film is based on the Disney theme park attraction "Jungle Cruise." The story takes place in the early 20th century, amidst ambitious adventurers and explorers. The brave and fearless scientist Dr. Lily Houghton (played by Emily Blunt) arrives in the Amazon in search of a magical tree with healing powers and hires the irreverent Captain Frank Wolff (played by Dwayne Johnson) to embark on the adventure. Along this epic journey, the seemingly mismatched pair faces countless dangers and supernatural forces in the dense jungle.
