Zhi Cheng (played by Louis Koo) was sent to infiltrate the Hong Xing Society as an undercover agent while still in police academy. Over time, the intelligent and brave Zhi Cheng gained the recognition of the gang's leader, Fei Long (played by Andy Lau). For many years, his superiors required Zhi Cheng to provide evidence of Fei Long's criminal activities, but Zhi Cheng discovered that Fei Long was merely a businessman and found out that Fei Long intended to turn his life around. Fei Long had a close brother named A Bao (played by Anthony Wong) who was betrayed and severely injured by the police, leaving him paralyzed. His son, Wen Jun (played by Tin Yau Man), is determined to avenge his father and seize the position of the gang leader, leading him to conspire against Fei Long. As expected, Fei Long is not only wanted by the police but also threatened by Wen Jun’s actions. Zhi Cheng arrives just in time to rescue Fei Long, but Fei Long's wife still dies. Devastated, Fei Long seeks revenge on Wen Jun, and Zhi Cheng, wanting to prevent Fei Long from being arrested for murder, reveals his true identity...
