Gerard Butler will reunite with “Angel Has Fallen” director Ric Roman Waugh for his new film “Kandahar.” The screenplay is written by former U.S. military intelligence officer Mitchell LaFortune, adapted from his real-life experiences, telling the story of Tom Harris (played by Butler), a CIA undercover agent working in the Middle East. A leak of intelligence puts his secret mission and identity at risk of exposure. Harris is trapped in the heart of enemy territory, and he and his translator must escape through the desert to an evacuation point in Kandahar while evading pursuit by elite special forces.
