"The Rebel in the Rye" is adapted from the biography "JD Salinger: A Life" by Kenneth Slawenski, written and directed by Danny Strong. The film revolves around Salinger's creation of the novel "The Catcher in the Rye," a work that has influenced generations of Americans and secured Salinger's name in the world of literature. However, Salinger himself was quite low-key and mysterious; he only completed this one novel during his lifetime. After gaining fame, he purchased over 90 acres of land near a small mountain by a river in New Hampshire, where he built a small house and led a reclusive life. He passed away at the age of 91 on January 27, 2010, at his home in New Hampshire. The Rebel in the Rye will showcase Salinger's rebellious youth, his experiences serving in World War II, his romantic entanglements, and his spiritual awakening.
