Dr. Robert Morgan (Vincent Price) has been dedicated to studying bacteria in Central America, and over time, he accidentally gains an extraordinary level of immunity. A horrific plague sweeps across the globe, and all living creatures on Earth perish, except for Dr. Morgan, who finds himself as the last human on the planet. Of course, Dr. Morgan isn't "alone," as the bodies of those who died from the plague rise as terrifying zombies at midnight, crawling out of their graves and gathering around his home, only stopped by sunlight. By chance, Dr. Morgan learns to his shock that he is not the last survivor; there are others like him struggling to endure somewhere in the world.
