John (Kevin Bacon) and Helen (Kelly Preston) have been happily married for many years, raising their two children, Brandon (Stuart Lafferty) and Lucas (Jordan Garrett), together in a fulfilling family life. One day, while driving home with Brandon, they make a stop at a gas station, unknowingly altering their fate forever. At the gas station, Brandon encounters Joe (Matt O'Leary), the brother of gang leader Billy (Garrett Hedlund), who possesses the same ruthless and cold personality as his brother. The last image John has of his son is of him lying in a pool of blood. After numerous twists and turns, Joe is released by the court, and driven by a desire for revenge for his son, John, once an ordinary and kind man, embarks on a path filled with violence and bloodshed without hesitation.
