In the vast galaxy, a tyrant named Barisalis (played by Ed Skrein) has established a vast and brutal empire. On a colonial planet at the edge of the galaxy, people live in meager poverty. One day, imperial warships suddenly appear above the planet, and a violent officer confronts the people, ordering them to gather enough food within a specified time, disregarding their livelihood and well-being. After the officer leaves, a squad of soldiers is left to supervise the people's labor. Unexpectedly, an incident leads a girl named Kora (played by Sofia Boutella) and the imperial robot Jimmy (voiced by Anthony Hopkins) to rebel and kill the soldiers.
