In the autumn of 1941, the Japanese invaders cruelly implemented the "Three Alls Policy" to establish a "strategic corridor" between Northeast China and North China, forcibly gathering the mountain villagers into "human circles." Bao Zhen, the deputy commander of the Eighth Route Army's Jidong Military Region, led efforts to establish an anti-Japanese base in the Pan Mountain area and allied with the bandit Ma Tietui, further expanding the anti-Japanese forces. However, during a mission, Ma accidentally killed a father and son, leading Bao to sadly expel him. Japanese Colonel Kato encountered Bao multiple times in battle, all ending in failure for Kato, yet he held great admiration for Bao's character. In one battle, Bao unfortunately lost his life, and Kato honored him with a wreath at his grave.
