On July 26, 2021, Teru Saeki (played by Sota Matsushige) celebrates his 34th birthday. After getting out of bed, he habitually waters his cactus, swaying to the music from the radio. Even on his birthday, he continues to work as a lighting technician, illuminating every dancer on stage. On the same day, taxi driver Ye (played by Sari Ito) drives her cab through the nighttime streets of Tokyo during the pandemic. During a trip, Ye gets out of the car with a passenger and is suddenly drawn to the sound of footsteps coming from somewhere. Unknowingly, she walks toward the source of the sound and unexpectedly sees Teru dancing on stage. The film rewinds the clock year by year, depicting the starting point of the love story between Teru and Ye and the moment they meet, taking the audience "back to the end of the romance."
