With the Song-Jin war imminent, news breaks of a corruption case involving military rations, enraging the emperor. Jingji Governor Zhen Dexiu, hearing of this, resigns at night and secretly meets with the suspect of corruption, Qiu Yihang. Unbeknownst to him, Qiu Yihang dies suddenly that very night, with various clues pointing to Zhen Dexiu as the murderer. Song Ci and Ye Bai set out to clear their master's name, Zhen Dexiu, and travel to Feng County to track down the true culprit of the corruption. With the assistance of the chief constable Shen Gujun, they identify suspicious individuals. However, every time they get close to the truth, those providing clues end up dead.
